We are charting a bold course to end homelessness in our beloved City of La Crosse. Our first goal, launched September 2016, was to end homelessness among Veterans in La Crosse within 100 days —and we did it (by Christmas Day)! Yes, you read that correctly! Using a proven model of rapid cycle innovation and improvement, we effectively ended Veteran homelessness (as certified by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, US Department of Veterans Affairs, and United States Interagency Council on Homelessness).
Together, we are radically revisioning what’s possible and are committed to solving complex problems through unprecedented collaboration, innovation, and a bias toward action over processing and planning.
With the support of Gundersen Health System’s Office of Population Health, we use a innovation and improvement model (adapted from one developed by Community Solutions and the Rapid Results Institute for the 100,000 Homes Campaign) to accelerate housing placements and profoundly improve system performance. The time is right for innovation and audacious goal setting here in La Crosse. Working together, we will end ALL homelessness in our City.
